Working as a professional, it's not strange that there will be stress, it's inevitable, cope with the stress or find ways to to get rid of it are the best ways to keep you going. Spending entire day at work and go home, there's no doubt that work would occupy more space in your head than other things, getting rid of them is hard. We're here to talk about work stress. It is a real thing. Some of us, even after spending almost the entire day at work, can't seem to switch off from it even when we're home. Work occupies more space in our heads than we'd like to believe. It's safe to say, we end up carrying our work home even if it's just in our heads.

And trying to find balance between your work and personal life can seem like quite the task. Anxiety and stress come easy.

I used to think it is easy to manage stress, and it probably is, but when you're busy you can barely eat or drink it can get difficult to remember that. Thinking about my work life today, I can't help but think about the back pain that refuses to leave my body. I am not sure if friends at work is a real thing or not. I am surrounded by deadlines and mails that do little to make things okay.

So, I sat down one day and had a conversation with myself about all the stress I was feeling. It was something no else could for me; I had to do it for myself. I realised feeling stress at work is inevitable. The only thing we can do is find ways to manage it. I found some, and figured if they can work for me, they can work for you.

1. When you get down to work in the morning, schedule everything in your head beforehand. Priority whatever needs attention first and we can guarantee the rest of the day will flow smoothly.

2. Before leaving for the day, make sure all the work you were supposed to finish has been done. Don't keep things pending for the next day. Starting light the next day will feel good.

3. Take the time out during the day to indulge in activities you love most. It could even be something like filling in colouring books for adults. But as long as it feels therapeutic and leaves you feeling good, it's worth spending time on.

4. Unfortunately, in India, we don't have work laws that specifically tell offices not to send emails to employees post 6pm. And while we still have a long way to go for that, try and take steps on your own. Give your self 'off time;' this means not checking emails or office WhatsApp chats once you're home.
