My younger brother and I never got along when we were growing up, and while we found ourselves becoming friends during high school (or at least in the midst of a temperate armistice) I’m not sure I’d ever get him tatted on my arm. For one, my brother is hideous (if you’re reading this, I love you!). For two, his immediate reaction would’ve been “What the fuck is wrong with you,” not overwhelming flattery like it was for Erick and Rafael Mirim.
In a video posted to Facebook by their mother Sheila, older brother Rafael shows his younger brother who has Down’s Syndrome, Erick, that he got a tattoo of Erick’s face on his arm. Not only is the tattoo done well, but it’s badass as fuck – Erick’s face is in the mouth of a lion, which Erick spots immediately and begins to fawn over.
“Look at my puppy’s reaction to the beautiful tribute,” mom Sheila writes on Facebook. “My dear friends, when I posted this video I could swear that it would not cause the dimension of sharing that it caused. I swear to all of you that my intention when I posted this video was just to show one more of their episodes. Many thanks to all the friends who shared the video of my children, I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart.”
And while most people saw the video for exactly what it was: a heartwarming moment between two brothers, some had to go and be assholes about it in the comments. “The way he was rubbing his arm was creepy,” one fuckwad decided to point out, whereas others outed themselves as complete prudes by complaining that the two brothers kissed each other on the lips in the beginning. These are the same people who were raised without kisses or affection from their parents, and who now choose to carry around their emotional baggage with them so they can pull out a pair of slacks and whip you in the face with it whenever the mood strikes. Ignore these people on the Internet the same as you ignore them in real life, and brother a quick text that you love him no matter how “gay” some dude named P00nSlay3r6969 said it sounded.
