Guy Admits Killing Pedestrian During News Interview – ‘People Hit And Run All The Time’

As far as cold-blooded killers go, Phocian Fitts, a 23-year-old man living in Brighton, Massachusetts, doesn’t seem to fit the bill. It’s not like I’d be his friend or anything, but the dude seems so laidback about how the world works that it makes me think he’d be great in an emergency. House burning down? “Nah man it’s cool they just toasting some bread.” Girlfriend dumps you? “Eh she was a four in the light and a five in the dark anyway.” Do a hit and run then drive away?

“People hit and run people all the time.”

Uh, no Phocian – they don’t.

That’s our boy Phocian getting interviewed by Fox 25 up in Boston. He is learning first-hand what it’s like to shoot yourself in the foot after not putting said foot into mouth.

“I just want to say one thing right…” he explains, “accidents happen.”

“I was listening to my music and as I was driving I was driving too quick…I was driving too quick to the point where I couldn’t really stop and it was a green light. As the guy was walking, the light was green, I’m driving and pressing the horn, pressing the horn beep beep, it was either I was going to die and crash into a pole. When it came down to it, accidents happen.”

Hit and run killer, or just an unaware mope?

Phocian, however, didn’t see the error of his ways and continued talking to the press. “Right now, I’m not worried about nothing. I’m not a stone cold killer,” he reasoned. “I didn’t do nothing on purpose. People hit and run people all the time, it just happened to be an unfortunate situation where I was driving."

"First off, I was scared and worried because I didn't know what can happen, that's why I left I said God forbid, I hope he's OK,” Phocian explained. "I'm a real gangster… I'm a real gangster not in a bad way I’m a gangster because I help out the community and I look out for the youth." “I know that’s why everybody got my back my family. I'm not scared. it is what it is.”

As for what happened to Phocian post-interview, he was arrested by police just minutes after the interview concluded. Initially there wasn’t enough evidence to arrest him, however after THAT startling display of intelligence police were able to slap some cuffs on him.

Phocian is now scheduled to appear in Brighton District Court, where he will be charged with motor vehicular homicide as well as leaving the scene of an accident after causing a death.
