A Hamlet, in the full version of Hamlet, the Danish prince, tragedy in the five acts of William Shakespeare, wrote about 1599 Quay1601 and was published in a quartet edition in 1603 from an unauthorized text, which related to a previous play. The First folio version taken from a second Quarto of the year 1604 was based on Shakespeare's own papers with some annotations by the accountant.   Shakespeare is telling the story of Prince Hamlet to be derived from a variety of sources, notably from book III and IV of the 12th century Saxo Grammaticus, and from Episode 5 (1570) of the historical Trio, a free translation of a Saxo by Françoisde Belleforest. The play apparently had a different play from Hamlet (now lost), often referred to as your-Hamlet, of which Thomas Kyd was a conjectural author.

The version published in the First Folio of 1623 was taken from the second version of the Quartet, with some references to a notebook.

This is a comedy of love with the message that love does not follow any rule beyond itself. In the play, Shakespeare uses many folk elements of British culture in character building. In addition, the play also sets the boundary between illusion and reality.
